Prince of Peace

An Imprint of Peace

Mến chúc tất cả một mùa Giáng Sinh vui vẻ.
Merry Christmas & Joyeux Noël!

Writer’s Note:
At the fall mindfulness retreat, I was given the opportunity to walk up the mountain and seat atop large mountain stones overlooking the city in welcoming a new day as the sun rising up.

Under the morning sunlight, aged mountain stones show their firm and solidity in withstanding torrent forces of nature (rain, wind, sun, snow) through the years. Those stones take on various familiar shapes from a food related of steaming hot Chinese-style sweet bun to the seaside wonder of a mother fish carrying baby fish on her back.

There is one stone stands out in particular. Ironically, not for its shape like the others, but for its imprint of peace; at least, that is what my mother and I have perceived or otherwise simply be seen as crackling marks on stone.

Above photographed side of the stone pictures a man in robe with open arms and a lady figure at his feet. It calls for the image of Jesus Christ and the Blessed Mother at His feet. At that, we proclaim with gladness.
